Alychlo acquires Antarctica ice rink and plans to invest further

Alychlo, the family office of Marc Coucke, has taken over the Antarctica ice rink in Wilrijk. The ice rink, which is unfortunately in poor condition, was closed by the city in March 2023 for safety reasons. Alychlo plans to apply for a permit to demolish the ice rink.

It is located near the recently renovated ski slope of SnowWorld Antwerp (festively opened at the end of last year). Further development of the entire site will be looked at in cooperation with SnowWorld.

Although the decision has been taken not to build a new ice rink on the site, the renewal of the site is high on the agenda. SnowWorld and Alychlo aim to transform the site into a modern and attractive recreational area with winter sports activities as well as other indoor and outdoor activities.

Objective is to develop the site in consultation with all stakeholders, including the local community and relevant authorities, to make this project a success. In this way, Alychlo is confident of making a positive contribution to the development of the region and providing new opportunities for recreation and leisure.
